Cookies and consent
Last updated:
This site sets no analytics or advertising cookie until you accept. If you ignore the banner, or decline it, nothing loads and not a single request goes out to any third party. Continuing to browse does not count as accepting.
The only thing stored without asking
-
gaio_consent_v1 - Stores your answer to the banner — accepted or declined — so we do not ask again on every visit. It lives in your browser's local storage, never travels to a server and contains no identifier of yours. Clear it and you will be asked again.
The key is versioned (_v1) on purpose: if what we collect ever changes, we bump the
version and ask again, rather than relying on permission you granted for something else.
If you accept: PostHog, in the United States
Only then does PostHog load, telling us which pages are visited and where people arrive from. It exists so we know whether this site does its job, not to follow you around the internet. The data is stored in the United States, where the rest of our infrastructure also lives.
It is configured to collect the minimum that is useful:
- Your IP address is discarded and is not stored alongside the events.
- Your screen and movements are not recorded.
- Individual clicks and keystrokes are not logged.
- No profile is created for visitors who do not identify themselves.
And three commitments that do not depend on configuration:
- We do not share this data with advertisers.
- We do not cross-reference it with your GAIO account.
- We do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.
Changing your mind
With the button below, whenever you want. On declining, we stop loading analytics immediately and clear anything it had stored in your browser.
Checking your current preference… If you see nothing here, JavaScript is disabled and no analytics is being loaded.
This website and the application are separate
This policy covers gaio.gg, the website. Telemetry in the desktop application is explained in the privacy policy, has its own consent and is managed from the application itself. One does not switch on the other.
